Thread: Suit vest without jacket - Yay or nay?

Default Suit vest without jacket - Yay or nay?

I'm getting married this coming February, and will be wearing 3-piece suit.

At first I thought about going tux, but eventually decided on suit because,
    - Good tux seems to be a bit more expensive than 3-piece suit of similar quality
    - I wear suit everyday for work, so I know I will get lots of years wear out of it after wedding
    - Renting a tux is an option, but alteration for better fit won't be possible
    - With 3-piece suit, I have an option of taking my jacket off during the later phase of reception if I want to

Lately, however, I've been wondering if wearing a suit vest without jacket is considered tacky.
    What do you guys think?

In recent years I have often talked to many grooms, and here's what I realized: preparing for a wedding, even the simplest one, sometimes becomes a real stressor for the husband-to-be. The groom-to-be, especially if he doesn't wear a suit every day, torments himself with a thousand doubts: "How will I look next to the bride? "The first thing to keep in mind is that all the details of the wedding should be in harmony, so the main rule - the groom's suit should match the style of the bride and the marriage. In my opinion, the best way to get married is to wear an elegant three-piece suit, which will sit on you very well. When I was getting ready for my wedding, I also bought a three-piece case from a good store, Gentlemans Guru, and to this day, I wear it to work. So I do not think that the tuxedo will be perfect for a wedding reception.
