    Default Help me understand something

I recenlty kind of left the Wii homebrew scene alone cause I am bored of the console in general, but out of curiosity started looking into it again. I understand everything perfectly fine except the trucha signing thing. I understand that it will resign a iso after it was modified so it will run again. I also understand that this won't make commercial game backups run on a undmodded wii. I'm just wondering (really doesn't have much to do with trucha) what did people do for game backups before trucha? I thought they were backing up games wayyy before this, or if you back them up and don't modify them you don't have to do this? So is this just for people wanting to remove updates and or peak around at a game?

trucha signing is only needed after you modify the game ISO, if you remove the update or "scrub" it (removing empty data on the iso).

it's NOT needed if the iso is unmodified, full dump of the original game.

    hope that help a little.
