Need Step-By-Step for Upgrading 3.52M33 to 3.90M33

I'm having some trouble playing a game, Tales of the World Radiant Mythology to be precise, on my 3.52 M33 PSP. I figure that maybe upgrading might fix the problem I am having (The game freezes up when asking for a name for your character), but I know nothing about upgrading. So, I need a step-by-step walkthrough of what to do to upgrade it.

I would appreciate some help.
