Forum Cardboard Bicycle Costs Just $30, Don't Leave It Out in the Rain

A 21-year-old student from the UK has designed a cardboard bicycle that he has dubbed "the ultimate green machine." Supporting anyone up to 168 pounds, the frame, which costs around $6 to make, is made from the cardboard used in industrial packaging, whilst the wheels and chain are standard bike issue, and will cost around $24.

I think it looks cool! I would absolutely buy that....but I don't know if I would actually ride it.

If he's going for an environmentally friendly green machine, all that heavy-duty pressed industrial cardboard probably caused quite a bit of pollution to make, and the bike will likely fail in one or two years if used regularly, meaning you'll need to use more resources to replace it (assuming you don't get it wet to make it even last that long).

All in all, I think some people are trying too hard, and aren't looking at the big picture.
