    Default Need urgent help! - downgrading a 3.95 phat

    Hey guys,

    My brother is coming to town soon and I told him I'd try and downgrade his psp. He has a phat psp with 3.95 firmware. My psp is currently on 3.90m33.

    A few questions;

    I heard that i need to make a magic memory stick and a pandoras battery. If I do that with mine can they be changed back to normal?

    Is the process more dangerous than normal downgrading?

    Any tutorial links?

    Thanks!

    You do need to create both a magic memory stick and softmod your battery. This isn't really risky at all. Worst case scenario is you semi-brick your phat and you just recreate your mem stick and unbrick it. Just make sure you follow instructions carefully. Both the memory stick and your battery can be unmodded pretty easily, although I had an issue unmodding my PSP Slim battery for a little bit.

    Also, if you have a slim, just know that you're going to have to hold the battery in, since it doesn't fit perfectly in the phat. If you both have phats, then ignore what I just said.

    This tutorial is pretty decent:

    However, there are zips downloadable for your memory stick that will automatically downgrade to 3.71m33. I can't recall just now where to find them though.

    You can change them back to normal
    just backup your battery's eproom before creating the pandora's battery, this option shows up on the pandora's battery creator

    And I think normal downgrading is riskier than using pandora, since it is designed for unbricking

    as for links http://www.blastprocessing.net/?page_id=20
