I've compiled a new version of mplayerwii using tantric modification on lintinysmb to add ntlm and I've done some modification in network_wii.c to increase heap size to increase samba buffer.

So new version with better speed and NTLM in samba.

No source because the modifications are in libogc.
Only a few modificiations on smb_devoptab based on libogc changes.
I finally got around to testing this version and it's actually more buggy than the last. Playing a file, the initial green text on the screen scrolls down the rather than staying static like normal, and when the files (both music and video) start playing, they cut out and freeze after about 30 secs.

A new version to test samba
If all goes fine I'll commit changes to google code.

works well samba rodries, similar to the previous release r19 was it? and way it handles large files perfect, no glitches, one bug don't forward madly, otherwise crash!
    just forward slowly

remember this mplayer samba can not access root samba, only shared folders, and don't forget '/' at the end.
Here is my file, i am switching between versions which is why i have the direct link to some files in there still, they obviously just go straight to the directory
the 1.2 address is the vista machine which works fine and the 1.3 is the nas which never works, just goes up to the 'load from sd option'

try going back and clicking again and again but nothing.

also on latest release the file played and the green loading text did not scroll but when i clicked home to stop play i got a page dump. could be a sketchy file though, not got many to test on g/f laptop at the mo.

EDIT:- just tried a couple more axxos and they dont play properly at all, green line at the bottom and diaganol image issue. though i dont get any dump errors when i click back.

    The problem is the speed
samba is about 660kb/s when works fine
    usb is about 470kb/s
660Kb/s is Wifi limitation of wii ?
I got around 2Mb/s with computer (and all are around 1 meter of the wifi hub)

is it better with usb network or usb got limitation of ~470Kb/s ?

I think so, I've been talking with bushing and Tantric and I think is a bad ios driver, but not sure, wii wifi especifications is 54g so in theory the max speed must be about 2,5Mb/s, but nobody can have this speed with wii

I can not test, but usb is constant and wifi is unstable, so depends on the quality of wifi signal.

Perhaps NAS has activated kerberos (NTLMv2) instead NTLM.
At now only works with NTLM not NTLMv2

In windows if you write \\192.168.1.3\seagate\ can you see the directory content?

Known issue, you have to wait to see an image before press home.
