Nintendo Wii NTSC TO PAL ?

Getting the chance to go to the USA with work and was going to buy a Wii over there as it will work out very cheap. the question is can the unit be changed to the PAL format ?

you can't change the region of the wii, but you can play most (if not all) import games on the wii using the Gecko OS Homebrew channel.
