Unhappy "The Memory Stick cannot be read."

Can anyone help me? I was messing around with my PSP (throwing emulators and homebrew stuff on it) and after exiting one of the emulators, I suddenly get the message,

"This Memory Stick cannot be read.
Go to [Settings] > [System Settings] to
    format the Memory Stick."

...But I don't want to format it! I have too many files and save files to get it all back... in one game I'm over 80 hours in it... I don't want to lose that file in particular...

Can someone help me? Please? Is there a way to avoid formating and saving these files?

That's the last time I'll ever order a memory storage device from eBay...

PHEW!!! I don't know WHAT happened, but I pulled out the memory card for a bit to look at the serial number, put it back in, and it told me how much MBs were left in it.

Should've seen the happiness in my face... I immediately backed up all saves files I had. I suspect I have a fake MS, but I'll continue using this one (and updating the saves files I backed up) until I buy a new one at BestBuy.

Phew... anyway, can a moderator lock this topic up?
