it has nothing to do with the memcard, as the firmware is inside the psp
Hello, i'm a new poster here, and I am sorry if i am posting this topic in the wrong forum.
I am a Die hard Grand Theft Auto fan and I am a Die hard old school game player on my PSP. I heard that to play GTA we must upgrade to firmware 2.0. I have two memory cards and was wondering if it's possible to upgrade to firmware 2.0 on one of my memory cards and play grand theft auto (liberty city stories). And not upgrade the 2nd memory card and continue to play roms.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is it at all possible.
Any information will be greatly apreciated.

Is there any way to play the old 2D GTA on our PSP's?
No, there is no playstation emulator, nor some port of the pc version.
There is a PlayStation emulator for the PSP.Originally Posted by Skye

Don't speak what you don't know.
You don't need to know my mental status. You probably don't want to, either.

the only way to play gta.lcs and play roms is to use a version changer that fakes your your 1.5 into 2.01(so your actually using 1.5 but gta.lcs thinks you have 2.01)
We don't even know if you will be forced to have any firmware to play GTA:LCS yet.
In fact some speculate that it would be dumb for Rockstar to agree to cutting there own market down in size by preventing a section of PSP owners from playing the game without giving up all their beloved homebrew.
But even if it does require an update, just use the version changer that fools the PSP into thinking it's a higher firmware and problem solved.
You know, I can't help but think why Sony doesn't have the games checking the firmware through some kind of encryption key. As far as I know, they don't. I have never used WAB's version changer. Does anyone here know the method games use to authenticate which version firmware you use?
all the answers r here... u just gotta search.![]()
