My DVD is missing

I need help.
I just installed the new version 2.42, and after that my dvd-icon is missing.
Cant play games, dvd´s, blueray or cd´s. Have tried to reset to default, byt the icon is just gone, and nothing happens when I insert any kind of disc.

I guess I have to try the "Restore PS3 System", but I would like to keep my savegames.

How can I make a backup? I tried with a usb-stick, but it doesnt work.

Hope anyone can help.

email sony? ive updated and mines fine :S weird, try a cd lens cleaner to be on safe side
