Sandisk, hands down. I own both types, and the Sandisk ones perform the same and are cheaper.

    my short memory stick story...
A few days ago went to Best Buy, and they had 1 GB memory sticks on sale, $95 for the sony, $99 for the sandisk. I figured I'd save the $5 and get the "name brand" sony stick.
Much to my suprise... the sony 1GB memory stick was noticeably slower than my 512 meg Sandisk I was upgrading from... I ended up taking the sony stick back and getting the Sandisk and I'm very happy with it.

moral of the story, get the Sandisk, even if the sony is on sale for cheaper. It's not as big of a difference on an older USB 1.1 computer. But if you have a newer PC with USB 2.0, the sandisk is noticeably faster.
