Final Fantasy VII Remake for DS? Full Report

ff7 on the ds?
surely it would be easier for square to port the 1.8gb ps1 version over to a 1.8gb PSP umd...
would still own anyways... but that means i gotta buy a DS.

King DS, you said that ff3-6 will be comming out on the ds? where did you hear that cos that would be great if its true...
ive only heard that ff3 is comming out on the ds (not gba for some reason) and ff4 is comming out on the gba.

While most in North America were sleeping last night, Square Enix President Yoichi Wada took the stage at Nintendo's DS Conference in Japan and officially confirmed something that was recently hinted at in Shonen Jump: that Square Enix will be bringing both Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI to the Game Boy Advance. Both of these ports will come with content not found in the SNES and PlayStation versions, and will be released next year following the release of the GBA port of Final Fantasy IV this Holiday Season.

Wada also discussed the status of the Nintendo DS version of Final Fantasy III, which has seen little in the way of new information since its original announcement. Wada confirmed that the game is in development under the lead direction of Hiromichi Tanaka, the director of Final Fantasy XI. He also stated that the game will be remade using polygons for both the characters and the field similar to Seiken Densetsu.

Final Fantasy IV Advance will be released in North America on December 12. All of the other games currently have their prospective release dates set at some time in 2006.

There has been talk of a remake for sometime now as you know. We are aiming to deliver such properties in many different ways and on many different platforms and FFVII will be the first to really show this strategy to its fullest potential.”


so it could be a full remake for All playforms, if you read the last 3 lines.

cool i just read that on rpgamer's site... cant wait for ff6!

ff3ds graphics are a lot like ff crystal chronicals is... seems the original 2d game will never be released outside of japan i hope the remake hasnt changed too much cos the original with the onion kids and all those classes and stuff was great.

im not sure crystal chronicals is coming out on ds anymore tho, cos i cant find any actual evidence that its is being created other than people saying it is... probably just confused because of ff3ds looking alot like ffcc

and i think that ff7 bit at the bottom reffers to ff7ac umd+dvd movies, ff7bc mobile phone game, ff7cc psp game and ff7dc ps2 game which are all being worked on.

i want ff6 on gba the most out of all of those games! that will own

CC was anounced before the DS was born, if you ever played it the use of 2 screens was fantastic and i would love to see it on the DS, specialy as its gonna be online based, joing together with other gamers and collectiong the mrth or whatever it was.

and i agree the grapics are similar, in the style i mean, obviously the GC graphics rule over all. im more excited asto FF5, that game was great, everytime you arive to save the day, it all goes tits up and stuff happens that you were trying to prevent.

another thing, not to sure if they would remake it for PSP and PS2 coz like you said, there already is a FF7 game going onto it so they might just settle with that, but you never know. still, wait and see.

I am sure a version of ff7 will appear on the ds at some stage since final fantasy is a massive cash cow for square and certain people will buy anything with the ff branding on it......no offence to you guy's though as I am sure you will not settle for tripe.

id Def get it! i played the first one and... well do i need to say? anyhows, ill be getting the other ones at some point (1-6) when there all out. i got tactics and CC aswell as 7+8 and i did have 9 but the 3rd cd was broken :-(
