Question of thine DC GD-Rom ribbon cable...

Yo, I just wanted to know what the maximum possible length of the GD-Rom ribbon cable can be before the signal attenuates. I actually feel like tinkering on a frontloading setup, and want a good estimate of about how much length I have to work with thanks.

my front loading DC that im currently building has a 25cm cable and it works okay.

Generally the mechanism, the disc will load fine but getting the disc spindle the exact height from the laser so the outside of the disc will read is really annoying. Takes alot of tweaking...
