Wouldn't the process be simular to booting windows off a cd instead of a hard drive. I don't think to many of the system resources would be use to tell the psp to look at the memory stick for operating instuctions instead of flash kind of like hd loader tells the ps2 to look for game on the harddrive instead of the dvd drive. If you noticed while you are upgrading your psp that it runs a flash independant program in ram that deletes your firmware and replaces it with another firmware. Also you can patch video games using a cheat device that changes the values of certian code addresses. So in theory using these two principles you can have a program runing in ram that redirects the flash requests to the firmware located on your memory stick using a very small amount of ram.I am also aware that redirecting health values on a game will take less ram than redirecting operating system requests.

    im hungry

Well this loader says that it virtually tricks the PSP into thinking that the Memory Stick is the flash. SO WHY ISN'T EVERYTHING WORKING????? IT'S NOT EVEN LOADING THE FIRMWARE, IT'S RELOCATING IT TO A DIFFERENT DRIVE! Either they are lying, they stole someone's work, or the code has a bug.
You don't need to know my mental status. You probably don't want to, either.

hey what up everybody im new and i got a question. Instead of trying to boot different firmwares would it be possible to have an eboot loader off of a umd. That way you could update and still use that umd for homebrew. what im thinkin of is similar to datels action replay for the ps2 that boots ps2 elfs. plz dont try to "flame" me or nothin for this

Technically it's possible. The UMD is one of the few things the PSP was MADE to run. However, good luck making a UMD.

    Talking

My source in Turkey claims the making of a UMD Writer in the East. Any updates on that I'll post it, it's a rumor as it stands.

As far as 1.50 emulation on 2.00. No need really, the EBOOT loader of 2.00 is coming along well.

And to this peticular homebrew... What's the point in making this? MPH already made it, this is the SAME thing, stands at the SAME point. Might aswell MPH would re-release the same version. As soon as those suckers bring out the Browser on 2.00 or the Encryption for GTA etc. THAN we got something, it's good to know it's being worked on but these suckers need to put their heads together rather than competing for the same damn thing.

My friend knows how to make UMD's.

All I know is that you need to insert the UMD disc (not with that plastic case obviously) into your PC (not a lot of computers are compatible to do this.) dump all of the data and than transfer it onto there somehow. He has put Star Wars Battlefront II, Mercury, and Fried Up Browser. I have NOT seen him make them but I saw him insert the UMD and it was the UMD that came with the original shipment of the psp, the demo disc with the different demos and media. My guess is that you could run a particular Homebrew app on it but uhh wouldn't it be a lot more useful to put a game on it? No I am not going to support this or anything but if you have a stick i think it makes sense to put an iso that might be like 700MB on a umd and save that space for other things on your memory stick. It works though, you have to take apart the plastic VERY CAREFULLY. My guess is that you could buy a few of these on eBAY if you brake it. Somebody's usually scronging to sell things on there for quick $. It would be useful for an emulator such as SnesX or whatever because the rom sizes are pretty big sometimes. . (even zipped. . )

Lol you are sooo lying ;p You cannot burn data on a UMD, they aren't rewritable and the structure differs from DVD or CD, and burner would screw up the whole thing alltogether.
