General games Arm not required: Rock Band price cut in Europe, will only cost leg now

    via Joystiq

EA has announced a drop of £20/€30 from the recommended retail price for the Rock Band Instrument Edition pack sold in Europe. This means the cost of the instrument bundle and game, which sold separately for a combined price of £180/€240, will go from the shocking price of $360 (when converted to American bucks), to the better-than-before price of $300.

EA also stated that the PS3, PS2 and Wii versions of the game will release this September on the continent. Hopefully, EA/MTV/Harmonix will work out better pricing for the sequel when it's eventually released in Europe ... or at least come up with a better excuse for the high price.

Damn, that's expensive. I'm already not a fan of the game, so it seems overpriced here in the U.S., but there's not debating that it is overpriced in Europe. $300 for fake instruments! For that much, I'd buy a used guitar or drum-set, and learn how to play the real thing.

"Arm Not Required" I thought you were going to say they added some Def Leppard tracks or something.

That is extrememly expensive for an instrument game..... GUTBUB is right.... why not buy the real thing?? It could actually be useful in life!!!! - as fun as plastic instruments are... :-)

Rock band on the drums isnt like the guitar or guitar hero.

Being good on the drums on Rock Band whilst not being competant is near enough impossible.

It teaches and needs independence between your foot and arms.

Still, the guitar is trash even if i do love it and own at it

I´d say that learning independance between your feet and your arms is extremely important :-) therefore.... if these plastic instruments help people become competent before they wreck a real instrument, then I think it´s good for them. Plus.... if it´s plastic you won´t be too worried about breaking the drums or smashing up the guitar - hehe. :-)
