You can't do run any non-official software on v2.01 currently, and that includes the version changer.
Whatever you do though, don't be tempted to upgrade. It's only a (small) matter of time before v2.01 is downgradeable.
Hi all....
I am a n00b to the PSP and it has been bought for me as an xmas prezzie. Unfortunately it has 2.01 firmware.
However after reading most of the posts on this site, I can't find an answer to this one....
Could you use teh SXT version changer in a PSP 2.01 in order to run homebrew applications and emulators ?
Any thoughts are appreciated and (yes) I have done extensive searching on this![]()
Thanks

The version is used to trick a firmware update. Say if you use the sonyXteam version changer v2.02 to change it to 7.50. But it doesnt work for 2.00 games. It doesnt allow you to use homebrew.
