Can you explain this a bit better please. Maybe a link or something. I'm not sure what the "Japan spec console" is.
Hello, I'm in the UK and about to buy my son a PSP for Xmas but just as I was about to do so I notice that you can get the Japan spec console (and I believe it sells very well)
1 Is this really better specifiaction
2 Will everything we are likely to get for him in this country play on a Japan spec console
3 Is there at present any region blocking or is there likely to be in future
Many thanks
Stuart

Q. What's the difference between the Japanese PSP and the US PSP?
A. Currently the only difference is the actual package and UMD region coding for movies. The US Value Pack has a demo disc, cleaning cloth and the first 1million will also contain the Spiderman2 UMD movie. This movie will only work on the US PSP as it is region 1 while the JAP PSP is region2 (the same as DVD's btw)
There's also a difference in the button configuration. In Japan the O symbol denotes YES and X denotes NO/Back, so you'll have to get used to this if you've never owned a JAP Playstation before.
