how do i get dreamcast nester dc genie to work

When I go to the genie directory and try to start the game it goes right back to the directory without starting game. What am I doing wrong?

nevermind I figured it out. If anyone else needs it...start the game, then hold right button in and press X...then select A for game genie. You then select the genie you want and go back into the game. You all probably all knew this already...but just in case.
