Make a Magic meory stick

Does anyone know how to make a magic memory stick without a psp that has custom firmware on it? I borrowed a friend's psp to make the pandora battery, but couldn't make the memory stick because I run vista and now his psp is bricked too. Can I use a card reader to make the magic memory stick?

Yes, you can use a card reader.

To make a MMS without a CFW'ed PSP look at the MMSX guide in my sig.

NOTE: to run pspgrader on Vista you have to right-click and select "Run as Administrator"
