DSerial Edge Pre-orders are now available on Electrobee. The DSerial line of devices plug into slot-1 of your DS, and allow you to easily interface with various kinds of electronics and hardware. They are designed for people who want to use the powerful Nintendo DS to control electronics projects, or to plug interesting new devices into their DS for use in homebrew.

New features of the DSerial Edge versus the previous DSerial1 & 2:


Boots NDS files from microSD and high capacity microSDHC cards

Complete SLOT-1 solution (don't need anything in SLOT-2, no swapping carts)

2 x UART serial ports (compared to 1 x for DSerial2)

48MHz operation (compared to 24MHz for DSerial2)

Remote USB debugging using GDB in devkitARM

Includes USB microSD reader

This just seems like something that would be a much cleaner implementation as a slot-2 device...
