makes me glad i didnt bother buying one yet
Seemingly due to recent problems with interlacing on the PSP 3000 Sony has taken the step of removing almost all sign of it from their European Website. The only mention is now from the 15th of October regarding a competition, before that the middle august.
Could this be a sign of an iminent recall ?

They also appear to have changed the description on the American site
Originally
'This system features an improved LCD screen with the widest color gamut'
Now it says;
'This system features an advanced LCD screen with the widest color gamut'

So sad, Sony. SO SAD.
I like how they changed the word "improved." A PSP with scanlines is definitely not improved.
I still will not get one.
Sony dropped the ball big-time with this!
aren't scanlines cool for emulated arcade games??
LOL
Prehaps Sony is waking up to calls that we do not like the scanlines in the 3000 series PSP and could be replacing the component with a better one without them? That's just my guess, who knows exactly what they're up to? If the scanline problem is eliminated, I might decided to get the newer PSP.
This is a good things people.
A recall is great because it hopefully means that Sony is going to fix the scan line and interlacing issues with the new PSP 3000 screen.
If it's an official recall Sony will probably allow people who already bought PSP 3000's with the problems to be sent in for repair.
Amazon is cancelling pre orders for the upcoming black model. Perhaps we will see a psp 4000 before we know it.
Sony has a hard on for crippling the PSP with bad displays it seems.
How widespread is this issue? Does it effect all 3000s (that's how its meant to be), or just an unacceptable number of them (poor quality control)?
They 'didnt notice'?
