NDS Nintendo confirms R4 DSi incompatibility

    via MCV

Nintendo has confirmed to MCV that today's reports claiming that SD-card based piracy hardware the R4 will not work with the upcoming DSi are correct.

The platform holder was not able to confirm whether this is a deliberate feature of the newly redesigned handheld. However, judging by recent history it’s not unreasonable to presume this is the case.

I bet the reason that some ds games dont work is they tried so hard too stop flashcards that some cards got included as 'flashcards'!

The funny thing is the DSi already got hacked, so expect it to soon have support for flash carts, or at least by the time it hits the States

There will probably be a new R4 kernel that will allow use of the R4 on the DSi. We'll just have to wait this out or until a new flash cart that will work with the DSi is made. :/

Hacking the actual SD Card Slot and cracking the DRM on DSi Downloaded games is what we should be trying.

It would be way cooler to pop in an SD Card instead of a Flash Card.

Nintendo would have been stupid to say they don't care about the R4.
