    Default R4 V3 + 8GB Card Problem

    Hi Guys,

Just joined your excellent forum and I am very new to the NDS world - I managed to get an R4 with a 2GB card to work great on my sons NDS but his appetite has grown beyond the 2GB so I brought him an R4 V3 cartridge and a 8GB card - I copied the contents from his 2GB card onto my 8Gb card and inserted it into the R4 V3 but when I try and load it into his DS it sticks on loading - If I re-insert his original cartridge and 2GB card it works fine.

Can anyone shed any light on why the R4 V3 and 8GB card won’t work in his DS. ?

Any help would be very much appreciated guys.

    Mike

You'll need to download the latest version of system software (OS/Firmware) from the new cart's website as it will be different from the old one.

The old card was probably an original R4 (or clone) that did not support microSDHC (cards over 2GB) and the new 'R4 v3' (one of the many fake R4 carts that support microSDHC) is actually a somewhat different cart.
The different hardware needs different system software.

To my knowledge the official R4 team never released a microSDHC compatible cart before they were shut down.
There should be a URL on the packaging of the new cart.
