Have you ever hacked a mobile phone of yours?

I was just wondering that since here most people have a psp runing custom firmware, this would apply to your other handheld devices as well.

In my case it does, I had a Motorola SLVR L7 with Itunes in it, since the music player it comes with, really sucks.
While hacking it, I almost left it useless, cause I flashed a wrong file, overwriting a very important one, later I repaired it by getting a friend's same phone, dumping his and then updating the file into mine.

Also, just now I updated my new phone's firmware (nokia 5310) thanks to a program that lets me change the product ID, or else it would say I had the latest update.

That's really weird and kinda pisses me off, that only some people have the oportunity to have the latest firmware (thankfully there are programs to bypass these things:thumbup

Then again I almost ****ed it up too:rofl:, since when the update finished the damn thing just keep reseting itself, I was really freaked out, so I did the right thing we always do in these situations, I shut it off, then turned it back on and it worked haha:thumbup:

oh btw, I've only dared to do this kind of things because hacking my psp made me more confident about messing with my handheld devices hehe

Oh, you have a pocket PC phone too? What a surprise, for I have one too; the HTC Kaiser (also known as the TyTn ii and a few other names) and it's the next model up from your one (the HTC Hermes). Want to get the Touch Pro, it's ace but expensive.

Anyway, back on topic; yes I too have hacked my phone to Sim and CID unlock it for free. Also have a custom ROM running on it (Schaps ROM 4.40 beta FTW), has a really nice theme on it.

Im not actually using my TyTn at the moment, as it got broken quite epicly.

Yes, my dad has the HTC TyTn 2. Its a nice phone.

Im getting the touch pro (or N96, i'm undecided) next month.

i only have 2 right now though

-AT&T 8525 ( HTC Hermes )
-Cingular 8125 ( HTC Wizard )

however i plan to get more phones for rom benchmarking and testing :P

how do you like the SPV 3100? care to try some ps1 emulation? curious at the speed results across multiple variants should be the same as my 8525

i always wanted the uk ones because they have the front and back mounted camera

I killed it, a button broke on they keyboard and i lost my temper with it. And ripped it apart. Haha.

However, i still think it boots and stuff. Its just got no camera, and a battered screen.

I wouldn't of thought PS1 emulation would be possible on that biatch?
