For me:

Bomberman

It's easy to play, it's on nearly every platform, and it's a wonderful party game. No exclusivity to any console means no fanboys, either.

I was going to say Samba De Amigo (how can you not love it - you shake Maracas and look daft) but I'm not sure if it's really a franchise. Perhaps Wario Ware or all these damn fangled music games too simply for the fun factor that makes them very difficult to hate. Or Tetris.
