    Default * Multi Region

Hi guys, not sure if this is the correct area to post, if not please feel free to lock the thread and I will post it in the correct area.

Well I've got a Dreamcast plus the Utopia (boot up) disc, but I get a bit annoyed with having to boot up in between games. Is there anywhere I can buy a multi-region Dreamcast (preferbly with the red swoosh). I've heard of a device you can pluck into the memory slot, is this true?

    Thanks guys.

I think the device you're asking about is the Gameshark CDX which also allows inputting of cheat codes. There's a brief review here:

It sounds to me like you'll probably want a Japanese or US DC that's been chipped to work with imports. Lik-Sang sell this sort of thing (http://www.yesasia.com/?/info.php?cat...roducts_id=89&) but you'll have to factor in the postage and customs VAT on the item to find out how much it'll end up being. You may find modded consoles for sale over here but they made it illegal a while back to mod consoles with chips. There's a short story here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4315172.stm

Personally speaking, I use a PAL DC (blue swirl) with the DC-X boot disc and just have to live with the booting up when I want to change games. It's not that much of a hassle and I've had no probs so far.

    Default Dc-x

Hi, I got some import (JAP/US) games from a friend who disbands his DC collection. Unfortunatly I have just a PAL DC without a Mod Chip and since my parents won´t allow me to use there credit card to buy the DC-X at lik-sang or eBay, I just wanted to know, if somebody knows a bt or emule link for DC-X. It is the only way to get this games playing on my DC.

Great, thanks a lot. And this prog has the same compability like DC-X? Is CDX Gameshark the same like the DC-X just with cheating options? I have searched some sites to get more informations but I am a bit overwhelmed with all these boot CD possibilities. So, does the CDX also supports 60 Hz to play games with a TV Set in NTSC compability mode?

And again, thanks a lot for your help.
