Hl1 is based on modified Quake1 engine.
hl.bsp & hl.mdl (map and model formats) are very similar with Q analogues (e.g. hl.bsp just has different HULLs).
Well, here are some interesting experiments with hl.bsp & Quake ports:

Yeah, modern Q1 ports such as FitzQuake support hl.bsp & hl.mdl
So if anyoune want to play hl on psp:
-take Kurok-PSP (upgraded Quake-PSP) souces here: http://bladebattles.com/kurok/SVN/
-and FitzKurok src: http://bladebattles.com/kurok/files/...Sourcev0.4.rar
-try to replace files bspfile.h, model.c, model.h and modelgen.h in Kurok-PSP with these files from Fitz src and compile Kurok.
-try to run Hl maps (DM) and models on PSP. If it works, you'll maybe alo have to decompile and play around with maps and with scripts to run singleplayer correctly. And with game logic (progs.dat).

I visited quakeone.com, while i was printing this and found impressive news:

https://customtf.svn.sourceforge.net...akelife/ql_srcvirox has released the source to his Quake-Life mod, which allows you to play Half-Life in Quake.

So that be3f's post says "yes, its possible to play hl maps on psp" or "hey, look what a cool converter" or what???
I found this Half Life mod on psp while surfing the web the other day.
This video also shows some gameplay:
I've tried it myself and despite long loading the times, it plays pretty well.
QuakeC is portable to all Quake engines, so get Half-Life BSP support on the PSP, and throw Quake-Life's progs.dat in your Quake directory, and you're done.
Needless to say, Quake-Life was designed to play like Quake in the Half-Life world, not like Half-Life. You'll have to replace a few models and do some art as well..
