DS Doom on M3 dsreal newbie help needed please

Hi, guys, ive an M3 Ds real and cannot get Doom ds to run can anyone please help me with a step by step idouts guide from scratch to get this classic working for me. I messed around and got as far as selecting the normal game but left with two black screens, ive patched and done all sorts of things.
I think i need to start from the beginning if yall have the time.
I have the proper wad file.
maybe my file set up is all wrong ahhhH!!!
im confused.

These instructions worked fine for me the last time I loaded up DSDoom.

The think that seems to cause the most problems with blackscreens is not naming the .wad file correctly named.

Ahhh!! i must be dumb. I just cant get it to go, i get as far as chose wad, then black screens. Very embarrasing i must say, it sems i need an idiots step by step guide, maybe my file order or set up is wrong.....please help...so sorry guys.
Annoying thing is i got quake ds to work lol
