Okay folks. Today, Dark_Alex has released CFW 5.00 M33-4 for the PSP. The changelog for this version is shown below extracted from the readme as follows:
Changes:
- Speed selected for umd/iso was not properly locked in some new games that used scePower_EBD177D6 instead of scePowerSetClockFrequency to change speed.
- UMD/ISO speed settings now apply to PSN games too.
- Fixed libupdown.prx connecting to dark-alex.org instead of sony when npsignin_plugin checks for a new version and m33 update is enabled.
- Iso file descriptor was not closed in driver deletion
- Added a shutdown command to vshmenu.

Awesome. I'll be updating to this. Its really cool that he was able to get the UMD/ISO speed to affect PSN purchases.
5.00 M33-3/4 firmware with the 3.71 fatmsmod patch and POPSLOADER for 5.00 M33 has really proved itself to be the ultimate CFW for the PSP. Especially the Slim & Lite PSP's.
Thank you Dark_AleX!
For just a small number of things, Thanks but i shall wait till a bigger update,
Thanxs..a LOT.
Waited for that "shutdown command" a long time now.

Today I bought my first PSN game for PSP: Super Stardust Portable. It doesn't work on my Slim with 5.00M33-3 or 4. I get the "Game can not be started" message. I've been hearing that the FATMSMOD patch makes PSN games unplayable, but from what you're saying it's not true.
I love the fatmsmod patch, but can't live without playing Stardust. If I can play original PSN games with M33 and 3.71 MS drivers then I can agree with you.
thanks again, mr. alex.
I never managed to get demos from PSN to work, is that normal? That aside, thanks for the updates Dark Alex, you're the man
I don't know, maybe I'll try later, that shutdown on xmb sounds good. If the hold plugin I'm using and the custom theme I have, work on it, I'll upgrade and keep it for a long time
