need help with ROMS

Hi guys, i just got this new DSi + acekard 2i.
And i was wondering why when i load a rom,
for an example
Need for speed prostreet.nds
it just says "LOADING", and nothing happens.

Have nintendo made something that prevents piracy games? or what. anyways need help with fixing this .
