wtf??
Usually, we poo-poo any new memory card format what with the plethora of options available today. But when a new itty bitty card is announced with a ridiculous 2TB (2 terabyte!) maximum capacity (theoretical), well, we're willing to make the jump to a new format. SDXC (SD eXtended Capacity) relies upon Microsoft's exFAT file system and stores more than 4,000 RAW images, 100 HD movies, or 60 hours of HD recording with a transfer rate of up to 300MBps. The first batch of retail cards will hit before March with read/write speeds up to 104MBps in unknown capacities.

wtf??
Thats unbelievable! I wonder if those will work in the sd slot on my Eee...
OMG i can put all homebrew on that and all official psp games altough that's illegal.![]()
Hmm, sounds like something. If the price is right, I'd get myself one of those memory cards.
don't get too excited, it's just 40bit addressing nothing new... we still have to wait for the silicon to get small enough.
We don't even have 2tb ram in high-end servers yet, and that's spread over 8 banks.
It's a THEORETICAL limit.
I suspect there may still be a 1tb limit per partition though. (unless it's 41bit!?!?!)
anyone found a link for the white paper?
Damn that's tasty! I'm still amazed they squeezed 16gb from a micro sd. These theoretical limits are always seriously off what's actually possible but even 500gb is just amazing
Do that with a micro sd card, then you've got my attention.
