Any ideas on the pricing ???
Well, dream no more because the SD Assocation has just announced a new standard that will allow mobile phones, cameras and camcorders to store 2 TERABYTES of data on a flash card the size of your current MicroSD card. And speaking of which, they’ll be compatible with current SD 2.0 drives to ensure a smooth transition
The new specification is called SDXC and products with the new flash memory won’t likely reach the market until 2010. The organization’s press release explains that you could store 100 HD movies, 60 Hours of HD recording or 17,000 fine-mode photos on such a card. Read/write speeds you ask? Currently 104 megabytes per second and hopefully, by launch, will reach 300 megabytes per second.
This thing could hold all of my media and data combined even leaving some room to spare.
If they manage to acomplish this, can you imagine the consequences. The netbook I was just planing to buy will be already obsolete, as with this they could make another one, lighter, more powerful, less power consuming, etc.
This is HUGE!, both literaly and figuratively
Any ideas on the pricing ???
To reply to the name of the topic, I would store 999,999,999 pictures of cam girls on the internet, and show it to eveyone possible
I would put all my pics of mudkipz on it.
That would make an awesome hard drive for my laptop (since it has a front loading SD slot), though the chances are the SD would over heat and malfunction within a matter of days with my usage.
Though to buy one and see if I can burn it out within a day or so would then put the company to the test, hopefully it is durable because I would think that this SD would possibly be in the region of $200-300.
If I had it now, I'd sell it for GBP 25,000.
I would fill it with pictures of me
secret message!
I used to have a signature here.
I'd use it to back up the $#@! I have now and store it in case something went wrong with my rig!!!
Could this become the video game media of the future?
