I don't think so. I believe that when the Wii is running Gamecube games, it runs in Gamecube mode and only utilizes Gamecube hardware.
Is there a hack or app that lets you use the Wii Remote or Classic Controller to play GameCube games so you don't need GameCube controllers to play them?
You don't need to know my mental status. You probably don't want to, either.

Only one game can use the Wii Remote, though it is a Wii title. Mortal Kombat Armageddon uses only the GameCube if it's plugged in, and locks out the Wii Remote. But if the GameCube controller isn't plugged in, the Wii Remote can function normally.
I think that maybe it is possible to use the Wii Remote in some GameCube titles via some re-coding, though I don't think that it would be stable as in the control abilities.
Some PC games can use the Wii Remote though, so I don't see why GameCube titles can't be somehow hacked into playing with an alternative control method?
