PsP Hack help

I am new to this hacking stuff and everytime i download a game, like smashGP for eexample(i got it off the smashGP website), it has an error. that and i want to have darkalexs 5.00 update and i put it in psp/game and it didnt work.. i want to get SAFE hacks and SAFE hombrews.. message me back

ALSO:
i got my psp like 2 years ago, and i have not toyed with it in any way, no hacks, no pandora(what ever that is)

You are probably gonna have to downgrade your firmware (using a pandoras battery and magic memory stick) to 1.50 and then install the custom firmware if you want to run homebrew. You can look up how to do these things on youtube
