    Default Firmware Updating

A really simple question that I am sure I have missed elsewhere...
I just got a second PSP as I am never going to update my US 1.50 because of the stash of emulators on my memory stick!
I went for a JAP ceramic white to differentiate and to play R2 UMD movies as I am in the UK, but I wanted to know if I can update my Jap system with the US 2.60 firmware?
    That's it!
    Cheers,
    Paul

Yes, you can flash your firmware with one from any other region although not recommended by Sony.

I think it voids your warranty, but it does not damage your PSP. If you follow the instructions, that is.
You don't need to know my mental status. You probably don't want to, either.

It doesnt void the warrenty, they jsut dont reccomend it...

so far firmwares have worked on all PSPs... I had a US PSP with JP 2.00 no problems... I suppose a Jap PSP should be fine with a US firmware... the US version generaly doesnt change much from the japanies.
