Child and a fish? What?
@VD: That might be her. I didn't know the name. They don't know who the father was.
I saw a lot of 14+ year old parents where i grew up, and the simple fact is in better, richer areas it happens less
The father apparently was the girls dad, but they had no evidence to go on. Although it probably was, because how else would a 5 year old have a baby? The sick thing was that she was 5 years and 7 months, meaning that she was roughly 4 years and 10 months when whatever happened (they later locked away a mentally disabled boy).
It doesn't happen less in the richer areas, sadly the slums mingle and ruin anything good.
When I was younger, there were no teen pregnancies... And now where I'm originally from (Surrey), it's as bad as anywhere else which makes me angry. Though I don't care, because it's not my life that is messed up (I say that selfishly). lmao

its like, your in school and your teacher is ask's you
"So how old is your father?"
and your gonna reply
"Oh hes 17" I would find that,SO AWKWARD
When the boy is 17, the kid will be about 4. So I doubt that a 4 year old would even have it enter their brain how old their parents are... Until maybe a few years later, when they see that their parents are younger than all the other parents. Which then they will feel awkward, because kids can be cruel to one another amongst themselves. Especially about stuff that has been covered by the media on such a huge level, that everyone knows who and where they are.
all eyes on the young father, i wish the best of luck for him. that guy is now handling his own kid, while i cant stand my annoying little cousin :P (but i still love him though)
The simple fact that his method of responsible fatherhood is to "work harder in school" already tells me that the actual handling of the child will be performed by someone else. There is no way that someone his age will have their own access to the resources necessary to raise a healthy child.
As for how this happened, my money is on boredom. Teens of that young age have a ton of sexual energy. It is the responsibility of the parents to keep tabs on their kids at that age and make sure that they are too well-occupied in recreation or education to have the necessary free time to sexually experiment.
As for Wraggster's comment - Don't you think that is too little too late? Having a kid at 13 is a bigger slap in the face than anything we could give them.
