yeah nothing ever came of it
thanks for finding news though![]()
hi this is my first newspost. be careful with me
i found that on a german psp site. available here
and its originally from pspupdates but i cant find tghe original english version...ive translated that for u
i think its possible, why not?Team DST works probably already some months on the completion of a MOD chip for the PSP. Now the first publication lines up soon - so to team DST. The chip does not to require soldering work - according to original text however the exchange/adaptlation of some cables on the Main board.... however THAT is supposed to work without soldering - and everything which is needed is in the package. With the chip u are able to play imported video UMDs (thus all regions), as well as Homebrew (= self-written) software - no matter what firmware is installed.
Detailted feature list of the MOD chip:
- Controle over screen and input of the PSP
- separate from the Main board
- own workspace
- own 88MHz processor
- two memory cores (permits extensions)
- software chip is open SOURCE
- complete internally
- permits imported video UMDs to play
- launch without the the PSP software/firmware:
1.Homebrew mode: Permits starting software of the MEMORY stick
2.Normal mode: Permits own features of the chip and the code of the
MEMORY stick
- CPU Overclocking to 365iMHz, whch can damage the CPU! Thus not to
recommend!!!
- over an extra cable u can attach a USB HDD directly to the chip. This is
however only from the chip available, not from the PSP system.
- complete guidance - needs a usual clock battery, which will be contained in
the package.
The first charge of chips is going to change its owner starting from the 19.November with eBay (US) for $22,99.... Now only one question arises: Is that genuine everything, or again only a Fake as some time ago with the Downgrader? Some speaks against it - others for it.
yeah nothing ever came of it

hm is this date supposed for this year? well i hope so
well,i dont know...
i will only mod if it doesn´t brok any stickes for warnety, well.....
they cant know if u got a mod chip inside, i hope...
nice work but the qustion is, can u install it without breaking the warenty?
it says that u have to change some cables without soldering them...
Dont know what that would involve... I've never opened a PSP up.. Anyway I think most people decided a software approach was alot safer and easier then hardware modification. I doubt this is real... but I think its possible to do...Originally Posted by pepegomez
Also I would seriously question somthing that first began selling on Ebay.. If any modchip ever does come out for psp I would wait for a site that specializes in the product reviews it (devino, etc, and other trusted sites)
i always thought those modchips are illegal and thats why they aarent sold officially. like the ps2 chip. i know that a marketshop nearby has them(ps2 modchips)
listen to wraggster. this was a FAKE. nothing ever happened. It is ANCIENT news.
in germany chips arn´t illigal i thing, curse there are shops for this...
well, ther shurely will be a psp modchip, the qestion is when.
Im 100% for the idea, as long is it doesn't require an electrical engineer (for everyone else's sake, my step dad is an electrical engineer)
