Incredibly confused about firmware... please help!

Hi all.

I'm considering buying a 1.52 PSP, but I'm still very confused about whether or not I can play homebrew on it. I understand that I can upgrade to 2.0 and play most homebrew, but I also understand that you need a 1.5 PSP or lower to use SNES9x_TYL.

Is it possible to downgrade to 1.5, from a 1.52? Is any homebrew playable on 1.52 firmware?

The whole thing has me incredibly confused, so if someone could clear things up about what's possible with a 1.52 PSP, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

nope...

upgrade to 2.0 then downgrade to 1.5
look around the forums for help on upgrading 2.0 and downgrading to 1.5

If you want to see what's working Homebrew and Emu wise with FW over 1.5 check Fanjita
And THIS is the most comprehensive tutorial I've seen for doing the downgrade though I haven't done it myself yet.
