Emulator Troubles (Please Help)

Well actually it's a few problems.
1) I can't get Mupen64 to run
2) I can't make save states
3) save anything including preferences for the emulators.

What am I doing wrong here?
Somebody Please help me out!

Best use project 64 emulator;
Works nicely and almost emulates every game
