Help for Newby.

Hi guys, I'm really hoping someone can help me here.

I have an original psp1000 bought on holiday in Japan in 2005. I've been daft enough to update the firmware without thinking. I'm now on v 5.02.

What I want to achieve, is to be able to run homebrew on my psp, so I can play emulated old games. I'd also like to know how/if possible to back up my umd games to a memory card and run them from that. I'm going on holiday and would like to carry as little as possible, so having all my games on the memory card would be great if possible.

I hope this post is in the right section on this site, and would be really grateful for any advice/help.
