Default PSP's Ghosts 'n' Goblins is the Ultimate

Capcom has confirmed that it is to release Ultimate Ghosts 'n' Goblins for PSP this summer, and has sent us over a lovely selection of spooky screens.

The reworking of the classic 2D scrolling action game, previously known as Extreme Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, is being directed by the creator of the original game, Tokurou Fujiwara.

It sees the return of the heroic knight Arthur attempting to keep his suit of armour intact as he bounces and battles through hordes of supernatural enemies.

From the bunch of new screens that Capcom has provided, you can see that the presentation has been kept stubbornly 2D-simple, with only backgrounds giving the illusion of a third dimension.

This should be good. Good to see classics revitalized and improved for the PSP.

Yeah it would be really nice to play a new contra on psp. As long as it's not like Neo Contra or the last ps2 one. Granted the ps2 games are better than the ones from the 32 bit era, I'd like to see what they could do with it on psp. 2d hand drawn would be nice but that would never fly with sony, not for contra anyways. Another Contra III the Alien Wars style would be very nice. It's nice companies like Capcom and Konami are still doing sequels to their old games. This new Ghosts n Goblins is looking really nice and even though it's 3d it seems like it's going to turn out really well. I'm looking forward to this one!
