    Default Quake 3 Arena PSP

Seeing as Nokia phones such as N95 8GB,N82 and E90 can run it in fullspeed. Why not PSP?

Because they have (at least) 128 MB of memory, a faster processor and gpu, and a more complete OS. Getting Q3 to run on the PSP Slim is a difficult task, akin to the Q3ce floating around. It's more work than most devs want to do right now.

And what? They have something around 80MB free. But NOKIA uses crappy underclocked slow RAM

PSP has better CPU. It uses special console CPU. Also GPU in mobile phones is useless crap.

No. NOKIA won't let you do everything with their OS. PSP has CFW so it can do what you want.

I agree. It would be difficult.

And a Slim has about 52 MB free, depending on the size of the app itself. Just because the Slim has 64 MB doesn't mean apps have 64 MB to use. 8 MB is reserved right from the start for the PSP OS and kernel usage. A tiny app can allocate a bit more than 53 MB on the Slim.

Ah, okay, that bodes well for Q3 on the PSP.

That's Symbian OS, right? It's easier to program on than the PSP OS from what I gather from other programmers who have done stuff for that OS. I haven't personally, so I may be mistaken on that.

So I guess what it comes to is both are probably a pain from the OS side, the CPU/GPU might be better on the PSP (yet to be seen... can't make comparisons until Q3 for the PSP comes out), and the primary problem is squeezing things into about 50 MB of memory.

CPU/GPU is 100% better, because I own N95. Not sure if RAM in symbian phones is totally crap, but NOKIA doesn't care lately about HW so who knows

This would be nice if it's real, but I want to see the code first. This IS a GPL project, so posting the binary without at least posting a link to the code is a violation of the license.

    Sorry if I seem paranoid.
