This is good news...but if you can fool games to make it think that it is 2.0+ then why can't you integrate UMD Emulator 0.8c into the program?

Yeah, I was thinking almost the same thing. The existing loader will already boot and play (for example) WRC fine - but some aspects of loading (and especially saving) don't work. I guess this is why the GTA PRXes have to be modified for full functionality. If this can be done in real-time (by some sort of magic) then it's go go go.

IMO the loader should support UMDs and ISOs. Give the users the choice. Not everyone using an ISO is doing so illegally.
I write enough code at work.

I agree. If the whole ISO concept didn't exist, I wouldn't have Untold Legends still because I broke the UMD's case... and while trying to super glue it back I accidenly dripped super glue on the disc and it's not working anymore.

I lost 5 games in Books-a-million -_- ... I am sure someone just ****ing took it. I even had an extra PSP battery in it.

They should either release UMD copiers, or shut the **** up about ISOs. UMDs are the most easily breakable crap ever. Keep it in your pocket for one day, crack... it's gone, there goes 50$. I work hard for my money, 50$ actually hurts on my part.

Plus I still rather play GTA from the UMD rather than ISO. Edison Carter's cheat works, frameskip (magically) is better.

But I HATE to upgrade to 2.00 and then downgrade for homebrew... I fear somehow it ****s up the PSP, flashing the ROM like that.

Any way they can implement ISO streaming from your PC so no need to have to store them locally on your memory card maybe a feature for future releases??

This is just a thought is it possible to just take say the 2.6 firmware and just put the code that 1.5 uses for homebrew back in it, then load that firmware. It would be the best of both worlds.
Now I dont know anything about firmware or even coding, but would this not just be the best fix. To have a program that just inserted the 1.5 homebrew code into any firmware.

Well, I just got my 2GB Ultra II Sandisk and for the first time, I tried this ISO bit to see what all the fuss was about. I tried it with X-MEN Legends 2. MAN! I was impressed. Its not very practical since the ISO takes up over 1GB of space but it plays DAMN good with full functionality. Saving, Network Play, etc. Plays so smooth and fast with little to no loading times.

After this, I must say I support playing legally owned games in this manner. Especially if firmware limitations don't allow the UMD to play normally.

I'm angry. If there are ways to "TRICK" the PSP in playing Firmware Required games, that means the PSP IS CAPABLE of playing these games at 1.5 firmware. Therefore I am really angry at Sony for blocking games from playing on lower firmwares and trying to FORCE people to update. Very dissapointing.

    Can't wait for this:

Why didn't anyone else think of that? Christ, what happened to these forums? Will this be the first news posting that gets locked?

MPH Game Loader (Version 1.1.0) now available

    http://mphwebsite.tuxfamily.org/index.php?program=19

    MPH said
"Here the game loader 1.1 with support umd.

Because i have no time for the moment, the multiplayers and sleep bugs are not corrected for the moment, it will be for the next version.

The compatibility is likely to be reduced because decoding is performed in the loader and because of the memory I am limited (64ko) to decipher prx but the next version will not have this constraint."

i just tried it with megaman x..and well..

it worked great !!! just don't put it into sleep mode or it will scare the s*** out of you. it doesn't turn back on unless you get your charger cable, so don't freak, you didn't brick your psp.
i used the flash0 and flash1 folders from the 2.5 eboot......if anyone doesn't know how to use this, i'll give a tutorial. its really simple actually
