    Default newbie homebrew question

Hi Guys I'm new to here but thought I'd jump on board to see if anyone can share there knowledge with me!

Via the twilight hack methos I have installed the homebrew channel on my wii which is working fine. I was hoping to install a utility which would allow me to play movie DVDs and audio CDs and so downloaded Mplayer however this doesnt appear to do the job for me so can someone answer me a few questions?

1 - Is it possible to install a program to do this, and if so what ( and where, and how!)

2 - What utilities would people recommend installing as most of the ones i can see on the homebrew browser are pretty poor or dont work!

    For DVD... Download MPlayer TT

MPlayer plays the video content, it's what it's programmed to do.

The Homebrew Browser has a good selection of titles, you just have to know what you want. I could give a whole list of software titles, but the Homebrew Browser is always updated so I recommend checking it weekly for updates.

    You didn't install DVDX?

It's what makes DVD's work on the MPlayer builds, I play DVD's on my Wii perfectly (minus the menu's).

You must be missing something, because I have retail and non-retail DVD's working perfectly (except the menu).

Maybe you need to start again?

Here's what you do, in 6 easy steps as from how I remember.

    --

    (1) Download DVDX

    (2) Place it on your SD, in the folder named "Apps".

    (3) Boot up your Wii, load the Homebrew Channel and select DVDX Installer.

    (4) It will ask you if you have a "Modded" or "Non-Modded" Wii... Click Non-Modded.

    (5) It will install...

    (6) When done, open MplayerTT and select DVD.

I'm hoping this works for you, otherwise there is something wrong with your console.
