    Default Problem with PSPlayerMT

I have a 1.5 PSP and put the PSPlayerMT and a .wmv file in the GAME folder. When the file loads, a gray screen comes up and nothing happens. The video doesn't play, and the PSP shuts down after a few seconds. What am I doing wrong?

make sure the video is not higher than 480x272 im talking about the resolution and you can check it by clicking on the vid and seeing its properties and going to summary and make sure that both sides of the numbers dont go higher than this 480x272 so 720x480 dont work and 480x360 dont work either cause 360 is higher than 272 or 640x272 doesnt work cause 640 is higher than 480 just to make it clear for you and if the vid is the right size and it still doesnt work make sure the vid is actually a good wmv video and check other videos to see if its just the player thats messed up like if you put it in wrong or something and remember not all videos play some vids dont work at all .

if alot of your vids is high resolution ones than you can always convert it by using avivoxcode (the hacked version one ill show you where to get it if you want really fast and high quality but you can use any ati video card with this hacked version from what i can understand and i dont think its illegal the converter so yea..) or some other encoder and convert it to mpeg 2 or wmv or whatever works for you and the psp at lower res or you can always try the pmp player mod and go that route and if you want to just ask me ill help you

The resolution is 320 x 240. I think I'll convert it to another format, what is a good free converter program?

uhm avivoxcode but thats if you have an ati video card in your pc or the new pmenc encoder that just came out today theres an option to convert videos to avi so maybe it might make it work somehow... just look around put video converter on google and stuff

You need to put the file in the VIDEO folder not the GAME folder... Some just dont play.. it is an early version..

root menu -> PSP folder -> GAME, VIDEO, SAVEDATA, MUSIC, etc.. ---- the VIDEO folder should be in PSP folder. If there isnt one there, make one and thats where you should be putting all of the video files, including the .mp4 and .thm for your Videos on the PSP OS menu. Read the forums!!

I made a VIDEO folder and put the videos there, but it still doesn't work. I think I'll give up, don't really care about playing videos but it would be nice.
