Running games off of a memory card...

My brothers PSP is broken, the disc slide no longer reads UMD's, everything else works fine.

I have heard that it is somehow possible to copy a game onto a memory card so that it can be played without the UMD.

How would I go about doing this? He has one of the old, Phat PSPs.
