The expansion added 4MB of memory to the n64 but things are looked at a bit more inaccuratly. In the front slot. The chip in there by default is a 4MB DRAM module. The expansion pack was a 8MB DRAM module. So reall you swaped out a 4MB pack for an 8MB pack (not that you added 4 megs to the original 4).Originally Posted by Vega
The Dynamic Drive or N64DD was an add on that alowed the use of a disk that are simular to zip disk. They hold much more memory and cost a fraction of what N64 carts cost. Sadly no emulator suports the DD unit. Nemu was going to be the first emu to suport the unit but Lac gave up on it after some time.
