New Super Mario Brothers Wii has at least two new power ups: the propeller suit, which replaces other flying power ups like the leaf, and Penguin Mario. Other screenshots show Yoshi riding and Fire Toad.

this for me is the best news of the year, a mario platformer is what ive wanted for years, who gives a toss if 2d is old hat, super mario world and super mario 3 are 2 examples of 2d platfom gaming at its very best.

I agree Wrag, I miss the days of 2-d. Too many devolpers and producers concentrate on total 3-d. I'd like to see more 2-d titles. Maybe another metroid or (I have a feeling I'm going to be alone in this) another Zelda 2 like title (I dunno why but Zelda 2 has always been my fav.)

sometimes the gaming industry forget what made games great, sure its nice to move on, but to totally abandon a way of gaming because its deemed old fashioned is madness.
