Root of memory stick

Hi , just trying to follow the tuturiol on the 1.5 downgrade what does it mean when they tell you to place files in the root of the memory stick ? THANX

Root = The first "area" of the memory stick. So basicaly the first area your in when you first open your Memory Stick. I tried to make this as easy to understand sorry if it doesn't make sense.
