The PC shareware version of Quake is available at our SourceForge page (available in .zip and .rar formats):
    https://sourceforge.net/project/show...roup_id=158726

It's exactly the same as the version on the id Software site, just in a more accessible archive format. (No install in DOS required first).

Download it, unzip/unrar it, and copy the ID1 folder inside PSP/GAME/Quake on your PSP.

This is in the readme.txt file...

It should be possible to play demos now, just edit your config.cfg or autoexec.cfg and bind "playdemo X" to a key. The available key names are in the readme.

I don't think you need to create a demos folder. Just copy your .dem files inside the ID1 folder, and you should be good to go.

I tested this by downloading a demo from here:
    http://www.methosq.com/qdemos.htm
(Make sure you pick a Normal Quake one (NQ) not QuakeWorld)

Then I created an autoexec.cfg file containing one line:
    playdemo demoname
(Make sure demoname is without the .dem extension)

Then when I started Quake up, it launched the demo automatically.

    Hope this helps,
    Pete
